  MONUMENT COMMUNITY CEMETERY

The ranching community of Monument was settled in 1885. The cemetery has many unmarked graves, also many marked with natural stones and no inscriptions. There are no signs directing traffic to the cemetery. Directions:  at the intersection of State Highway #8 and County Road #42, turn east on the county road. Follow the county road for 1.4 miles. Turn south (right) on a dirt road which crosses a cattle guard. The road runs beside a home and barn. The cemetery is .6 miles from the paved road.
